Bizaree Outlook Problme - please help

Hello, I've been running Outlook 2000 (The entire Office suite, actually) on
XP for about a year or more with little problem -- until last night. I
replied to an email but my reply stayed in my outbox, saying that it had not
been sent. When hitting send.receive again, the message "titled" toward the
right, as if it were getting ready to send, but then straightened up again,
still saying it was unsent. Despite thinking my email wasn't being sent, my
friend replied and, finally -- after a few "exchanges" told me he ws getting
multiple copies of my email. Adding to my confusion, the emails I had sent
did not show up in my sent box, as usual ( I do have the save a copy of
emails in sent box checked). So, I get emails remaining in my Outbox,
claiming to be unsent, not showing up in my sent box, and yet, they are being
sent. Any ideas will be mych appreciated. Thanks Andrew

account type? This usually is the result of outlook being unable to move the
sent item to the sent folder - one cause is the sent folder is offline
(mostly http or imap accounts, occasionally exchange server)

Andrew,
I have had this problem whem my Outlook files have become large. Try
running mailbox cleanup and Auto Archive. This may help.
