Bizarre Behaviour on same file viewed by two different PCs

In the last 3 years of working with hundreds of plans in a large portfolio, I
have now come across a second instance of the following:-

A user downloads a copy of our latest MSP template with certain custom field
data contained within it. When she views it on her PC the custom data that
was saved in the template originally is different. I am satisfied that there
is nothing specific in the way of filters, calculation, formulas applied that
would change it from what it should be - it is simply showing different data.
When another person on another PC repeats the process there is not a
problem. A complete re-installation of MS Project resolved the first
instance of the problem - but not this second occurrence.

Has anyone ever come across this before? any ideas? NB. First occurance was
using MSP2002 standard , second occurance was MSP2003 standard.

We had a similar problem, but not with custom fields. We were getting
different results on two machines (one P2003, the other P2002). We updated
the machines to the latest service packs which corrected our problem.

Try here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832887/
The latest Service Pack for P2002 is SP1, the latest for P2003 is SP2

Steve,
The most likely cause of this "bizarre behavior" is that one of the
Project settings is different between the two PCs. I'd look at all the
settings under Tools/Options and also make sure default calendars are
consistent and whether leveling is automatic or not. If something causes
the basic data to be different then in all likelihood custom field data
will be different.

By the way, also make sure both users have the SP2 update to Project
2003.
