After a document is merged from our database to Word, the document looks fine. But as soon as you push the Print button or File|Print from the menu, all the characters in each table cell are squished into one character space. The problem is both on-screen and on the printed document. This happens to all the text from the document template, but the mergefields look fine. Here's the kicker: If, instead of printing from toolbar button or File|Print from menu, you go straight to Print Preview and print from there, the document will almost always print normally.
The database we use was created in-house, but the other 30 or so merge documents we use all seem to work fine. The problem also happens exactly the same on 4 different printers and from any computer on our network, so I don't think it's a driver or network issue. We are using Word 2003 on Win2k. Our brilliant IT dept. has come and changed the power supplies in a few computers, but for some reason (*sarcasm*) the problem continues.
Any ideas or humorous comments appreciated.
