Black Lines appearing over table borders

I am trying to create a table with just white borders and a colored background to type text in. I have done this in every version of Word for years. Now, I have upgraded to 2021, when I try to create this table, I get black horizontal lines on top of the white horizontal borders. Please see attached image.

Please can somebody explain how I can stop these black lines appearing? I have never had this problem and it is incredibly frustrating.
