Blank areas in graphics

I edit a 36 page magazine with quite a few photos using WORD 2002. While in
"Print Layout View" there will be horizontal blank areas in photographs.
They can be gotten rid of by scrolling either up or down but will appear
randomly at times. Is this something that I should be worried about? Will
it get worse?

Sounds like a video driver problem. Resolution would be to
either try another video driver, or video card.
