We have an issue with a user as follows:
User has outlook configured with the 'Send immediately when connected'
option disabled (with auto send/receieve every 5 mins). This is his preferred
way of working as he sometimes wants to quickly edit message before they
actually send. So, they sit in his Outbox for anything up to 5 mins. If he
then edits one of these emails before it leaves his Outbox and hits Send
again, it eventually sends and he gets a 'message undeliverable' error and,
when looking at the Sent item he sees that the From Field (ie that which
should contain his own email addy) is blank. This is intermittent and ONLY
happens when sending to recipients outside our domain.
Config - Outlook 2003, Windows XP SP2, Exchange 2003
We have tried the following so far - reset local user profile, Outlook
profile, reinstall Outlook, complete rebuild of machine. the only thing we
have not tried so far is complete rebuild of mailbox (which is a last
resort...). Any ideas at all??!!
