Blank graphic in PPT from a PC

When I open a PPT presentation created on a PC (running the XP Office
version) one graphic is blank on the page. I happen to know it was
pasted from Visio using paste special - enhanced metafile. The corner
markers are there for the image but nothing but empty space in the
middle. I have tried to copy and paste in to Word - it's still blank.
I'm running PPT 2004. The image looks great on a PC but can't see a
thing on the Mac. Any ideas?

On the PC, ungroup then regroup the graphic. That should sort it out.
I'm not sure there's a way out if you don't have access to a PC, though.

Thanks Steve - I don't normaly have access to the PC from clients but
in this case I asked for the visio file and fired it up on my mac using
Virtual PC/Visio and ungrouped as you suggested. The ungrouping messed
up the shading and other rendering effects making the graphic very ugly
and therefore useless to copy and import. Looks like I'm out of luck
until MS figures out whatever cross platform issues need to be resolved
- I'd be happy to give someone at MS the PPT file if that would help?

That's another reason why I like to ungroup/regroup, if only on a copy of the
graphic. I ran a service bureau for years and printed bazillions of slides
from PPT. It was a sure thing that if a graphic turned messy when ungrouped,
it'd turn messy or error out when printing. Ungrouping was kind of a poor
boy's early warning system. ;-)

As far as getting it to MS, maybe use Help, Send Feedback to MS and fill in
your description of the symptoms along with as much version/OS info as you can.
Hand onto the file in case they want to get back in touch with you and request
it.

Thanks!
