Blank Help Screens--for All XP Programs

I've had this problem for some time now. I've monitored discussion groups
and have noticed others to have the same problem---but noone has solved it
to-date. An unresolved problem of this magnitude--having all help screens
come up blank for all XP programs -- is a big deal--to us non-tech users!
It's a challenge, if anything.

The clues I have are:
--Changing the security settings in the registry to allow everyone access
doesn't solve the problem.
--I think it has something to do with Office 2000 and Office XP being
installed in the wrong order, or both being present, or some kind of conflict
there, but I'm pretty sure I uninstalled 2000 as per installation procedure
for XP. Or could be a conflict with a Office 2003 trial version???
--FYI, the problem started gradually--first ACCESS, then EXCEL, then
WORD...now ALL of them...the problem didn't occur right after
installation--it was working fine for a while.

Could you, more fortunate learned technicians help us users to get our help
texts back???

Mahalo!

Odie,
Mahalo for your response, however, this solution (the workaround) does not
solve the problem. No change in help screens--still blank. The "more
information" part gave me more clues, but solution needs more work. I'm
thinking a workaround might be to completely remove anything that is Office
related and start again, installing in the right order (or better yet, only 1
version)...what do you think?

Installing only one version of Office would be my suggestion.
But if you want to install more than one, then install them in
order from oldest to newest.

right, I follow you...but can't seem to completely delete all traces of all
Office programs. I'm guessing..because when I uninstalled and reinstalled in
right order, still have same problem.

Oops, forgot to add... The uninstaller programs for Office XP and
Office 2003 supposedly do a good enough job of uninstalling that
Microsoft doesn't make a separate cleanup utility for those
versions like they do for Office 2000.
