Blank Icon in IE - Tried all suggestions

This is the problem with the blank OneNote Icon in IE after installing the
PowerTools.
I have all the suggestions I have found on this board:
- Uninstalled Reinstalled several times
- Set the flag in OneNote on Tools>Options>Other for "Place OneNote icon..."
- In IE View>ToolBars>Customize and Removing and Adding the "Sent to
OneNote" line which has a blank icon.
- Do the registry hack"Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\OneNote]
"FirstBoot"= -"

Anyone have any other ideas?

If the IE extension has a blank icon and still executes when
clicked, then the problem is probably that the registry settings
for the extension are out of sync. IE toolbar plugins have
entries for 'Icon' and 'HotIcon' which specify the image displayed
on the toolbar for the plugin.

Depending on where the plugin installed its settings, then under
either HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{plugin GUID}
there should be the two keys mentioned previously. These keys
will specify the path to the icons.

Thanks Darron, this fixed it. The registry entry for the icon was
"c:\program files..." but I did the installation to "D:\program files..."
don't know if this is a consistent problem when installed to a drive other
than C?

Hi

I have a simillar problem and have followed the instructions below but the
Send to Onenote icon is still greyed out and does not work. I also have my
documents and settings moved to the D drive but cannot find any reference in
the registry to it pointing to the C Drive.

Any ideas?

Regards Exup
