Blank Page or Template

Project 2003. Running as Administrator is fine. I can create new projects and
access old ones.

Normal User, when either opening a current project or new project, gets a
blank screen where tasks normally go, but top menu is visible.
Re-registererd srchui and jscript dlls as per KB - as administrator.
No luck.

Filesystem security on MSProject exe and MPP files is fine.

Is there a default template somewhere?

Hello Ian,

The default template is the Global.mpt file. Try exiting project, rename
the existing Globa.mpt file in the user's directory and restart project.
That will create a new global template.

I have the same problem.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Project; and deleted Global.mpt. Still no
luck.

I am an administrator on my machine, and just get a blank shell when
starting MS Project 2003.

Selecting different views does nothing - still blank space. The items in the
Insert menu are greyed out.

Any ideas?

Also, I have all current updates for Project 2003 - SP3 and a few more.

Hi Glen,

I assume you have activated the installation? The only time I've
seen what you describe is on an unactivated version. See Help >
About and check for disabled items.

I checked, and Help/About/Disabled Items says: "There are no disabled items"

Any other ideas?

Interesting... under Help/About/System Info, it lists Office 2003
Applications. The list looks right and the Summary info for each is okay,
but MS Project does NOT show up anywhere! Is that normal?

I found this... but the steps outlined did not seem to help.

Hi Glen,

Did you attempt to re-register the dll files? Did you restart your
computer after the registry edit?

Are you able to open Project files? If you open an existing file,
do you have options in the menu?

I'm sorry -- if the options in the KB article don't work, I suggest
contacting Microsoft support directly.

When I open a valid file, I just get the blank screen.

I did re-register. I'll have to try some more later... I used another
computer with Project to do what was needed for now.
