If you suspect the video is the problem, then go to the ATI site and
download the previous Catalyst driver (5.2) and install it: it may sort the
problem. (Though may of us are using 5.3 without your problem, but there are
so many different configurations of hardware/software/firmware that it is
impossible to test the millions of possible combinations.)
Also try open the graphics Properties, Troubleshooting tab and try reducing
the acceleration setting back to the left side and see if that works: if it
does, try increasing the setting a notch at a time to see when it becomes
unstable. That may give a pointer to the problem.
Let us know if that helps.

:I have installed current drivers and bios updates as of 3-23-05. I tried
: changing resolution from 16-32bit, no difference, it still crashes. The
: frustrating part is that everything else works but Word 2003. I am
thinking
: that there is an issue between the application and the videocard, maybe a
bad
: card. The only thing is that I know ATI produces the technology that is
used
: by many vendors of Radeon cards as well as produce their own. I have
: contacted MS tech and they say that there is no problem with the program
and
: ATI doesn't have a clue. The frustrating thing is that I have owned the
card
: for 45 days which is 15 over the return policy for the card. I would
imagine
: that if I purchased a new video card that my problem would disappear, but
: then I am out 150.00; or I could wait God knows how long until ATI fixes
the
: problem.
