Blocked e-mail attachments

I've searched and searched for a resolution to no avail. I need to be
able to have an Excel .xlt template file that I've distributed to six
people be resent back to me upon their updates via the click of a
button on the template. The template is saved as a .xls file to their
desktop before they need to send it to me. Unfortunately Outlook
Express gives me a warning that says it's blocking a potentially unsafe
file attachment thus rendering my existing button useless.

I've read about zipping the file and try sending it that way, but I
have no idea what zip software the six different people might use. I
couldn't get that to work anyway as I can only zip using whatever came
on Windows XP.

1. Is there a way to get the attachment to show up with a "safe"
extension when it tries to attach in Outlook Express instead of the
..tmp file it's defaulting to? OR

2. Is there a way to distribute the Send E-mail add-in created by Ron
to these six users via a macro that would install it on their computers
and then build the button that would send the attachment using the Send
E-mail add-in?

Any direction you could give me is greatly appreciated.

Hi LB

In OE

Tools>Options..Security
Uncheck "Do not allow...."

You can send the Add-in to the other users but you can also use a macro from my site

Ron,

OK, I'm nuts! I couldn't find Tools, Options, etc. in my e-mail
application, so I'm thinking that I don't have OE as I originally
thought! I use MSN Mail and had assumed it used OE. Any thoughts on
where I might find the right spot in MSN Mail? Also, I did try your
code to e-mail the whole workbook from your website, and it attaches a
..tmp file that my e-mail application blocks from sending. Is there a
different macro on your website that I should try?

Thanks so much for your help, Ron!

Allison
