Blocking Access to my computer from a lan user

How do you block someone from trying to look at your
computer if they are using a LAN/Network. I am trying to
block people at my work from trying to see what
information is on my personal drive and where I am surfing
while I am signed on to the network. How can I block them
from looking?

That having been said, there are a couple of things you should realize:

1. The computer at your workplace belongs to your employer, not to you.
If the "personal drive" you refer to is on the company-owned computer, it is
NOT personal.

2. Your employer is entitled to install any software he or she feels is
necessary to monitor activities taking place on company computers.

3. If your "surfing" is related to your job or work assignments, don't
worry about it. If it is not, then don't do it at your workplace.

4. Any network administrator with half a brain can determine what you or
anyone else on the LAN is doing. So, don't bother.
