Using Outlook2000Exchange. In my personal outlook account I keep getting spam
email with a virus attached. The header is in the form of Admin,
Administrator, Register or WebMaster @ "mycompany".com. There are about 6
variations. The body of the email will address me by my account name (Dear
user,...).The email tells me my account is either suspended or restored, and
tries to urge me into opening the attachment that contains a virus. (They
even included a little ditty at the bottom that claims the attachment is free
from viruses.) I get 1-5 of these emails every day. I currently use the Rules
Wizard to filter these out and that is fairly successful. Checking the
options on the incoming message I have determined the originating IP
addresses. There are quite a few different ones, but all start with
218.160.x.x. Tracing these I have found they originate in Taiwan. Now the
question: Can I set up a filter in the mail server (using ES 2000) to filter
or deny any email coming from 218.160.x.x, regardless of the last 2 numbers?
They (the spammers) are sending the spam from a wide range of IP's within the
218.160, so I'm hoping to avoid having to add them all individually. This
started about 2 months ago seemingly out of the blue. My antivirus is up to
date.
Sorry for the novel. Thanks for the help in advance.
