Blocking Spam with GIF attachments

Does any one know how to use junk email filtering or any other Outlook 2003
feature to delete spam email that comes with gif attachments? I'm getting a
lot of junk mail with embedded words that are not caught by the junk mail
filters and all of them happen to have small gif attachments. I'm thinking
that my only option to delete permanently these emails is to filter emails
with this type of attachment byt do not know how. Anyone knows? Thanks

They are automatically caught for me. Are you running the latest Junk E-mail
Filter definitions? (check Office Update)
Is there anything else in the body or only the gif-image?

I checked Office for updates but got a message that I had all the updates.
The attached gifs are about 10kbs, and no, outlook is not blocking them. The
messages, all of them have color text that seems to be embedded regarding
stock quotes in the first few paragraphs, then a very long paragraph with a
blurb just nonsense which makes creating any sort of rules with words
impossible. Rules don't catch any of the words in the color text that
mention stock quotes that's why I think is some sort of embedded text or
picture. I'm yet to understand what's the point of these messages. It's not
to sell stock, and the last paragraph is illegible. Most come from addresses
that end in .co.uk. All I came with was to create a rule to delete email
that come from senders with those addresses, but surely, not all the messages
with the gifs or the embedded stock quotes are consitently from the same
address. I get at least 10 a day. Private domain, private email address,
never posted it anywhere on the net. I don't get it. bThanks.

Hi,

Everyone seems to be saying you can not filter .gif's in Outlook. I'm having
the same ongoing stock spam onslaught with .gif attachments.

I looked in my antivirus program, AVG Pro and there is the ability to filter
out attchments and you can specify the type, so I am catching them there
instead of Outlook. Take a look at your antivirus program to see if it has
the same ability.

Hope this helps...
