Blue Dotted Guide Lines

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to have (BY DEFAULT) those nifty
blue dotted guide lines show up for every shape; both vertical and
horizontal? Right now I have to go through several steps in order to get them
to show up and it is very discouraging.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

The grid on/off setting is toggled from the View | Grid menu. However,
even though this and settings of the other view items are stored on
the registry they appear to be ignored on startup, at least I don't
know how you can override this.
However, one thing you can do is to create a blank drawing with your
required settings and save this as a template.
You can then start your drawings with this template and then your
settings will be preserved.

Sweet, so what settings do I have to make in order for it to work and how do
I make it a template?

Thanks soooo much!

Use the View | Grid menu then save the blank diagram as type Visio
template (.vst). Then you can double click on the .vst file from
explorer and it will use those settings.
