Blue file names

I have Office Home and Student 2007. About a month ago, many of the file
names in my documents started to appear in blue. It has nothing to do with
whether I have opened them or not and it shows up in Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint. As far as I can tell, it does not harm anything, but I'm curious
as to why it is occurring.

Nothing to do with Office.
Reason: You ran Disk Cleanup and allowed Windows to "Compress old
files". And the default system setting in Windows explorer is to Show
Compressed and Encrypted files in color. The color for Compressed is
blue, while encrypted is green.
