Blue space instead of the research bar

When I am writing macros in Excel 2003, on the odd occasion, a blue area
appears where the research bar would be. This obscures all windows in Excel,
and is only stopped by opening the research bar and then closing the research
bar. It seems that once this happens to the macro, it stays with it. Ie
everytime you run a macro it appears again.

Has anyone else had this problem?

If so, any solutions/workarounds?

Kevin
