Blurring images

Has anyone noticed that applying certain frame formats - especially 3-D formats blurs the image. Normally it's not that big a deal, but for maps with text it is awful. I've had to go with 2-D frames only for these. I assume it has to do with a conversion, applying a photo-effect and recompression to give the 3-D look that is the culprit

What version of PPT are you using?

In PPT 2007 I have noticed 'blurring' when applying styles, but it is more
noticeable in edit view vs. slide show (things are rendered when starting
show is my guess).
