Bogus fix

Hi George,

If you use Start=>Search to remove all files found with
*.tmp;~$*.*

and then hold down the ctrl key while starting Word 2002
to start it in Office safe mode and run the Web Page
Wizard do you get the same result?

(If you're using Norton antivirus turn off the
OfficeAV Plug in).

Anyone have a fix for this which works? Default Language settings are English. Had Office 2000 installed. Have Microsoft Word
2002 installed. Have this issue that the Web Wizard gives a blank Document 2 document when trying to run the wizard.

Windows 2000 SP4 Microsoft Office XP SP2 Multi-Language Packs Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1.

Thanks.

Thanks Bob. I got all the tmp files and folders out. TIF also. Thanks for that. Now I know where the Windows Update files are that I get from the Automatic Update service. Got those too. Anyway got rid of all those temps. Then did Start | Run | winword (w/ ctrl key held down) | Accepted the Safe Mode Prompt | File | New | General Templates | Web Pages | Double-clicked Web Page Wizard | and got blank Document 2. Just the same as before.

It turns out I found another article that discusses these template issues with Word 2002. So it looks like template problems are endemic to Word 2002. I typed "template install" for Word 2002 I think it was in the Knowledege base and got 100+ "Error" returns.
