Bold fonts in date navigator go away

When I first start Outlook 2000 (SP-3), the dates with
appointments show bold in the date navigator. But when I
switch to another view like Inbox or Contacts and then
switch back to Calendar, the dates in the date navigator
are no longer bold. The only way I can get them bold again
is to resart Outlook. The "other settings...Bolded
Dates..." box is checked for all views. I have started
Outlook with "/cleanviews" and get the same result. Any help?
