I have the "Introducing Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003" book and am currently
working though chapter 11. I have found that several of the exercises are
not working. I either get an error message or I'm getting different dialog
boxes than the example is showing. I do the exercises several times but
still get the same results. Am I missing something or is there a permissions
issue? I have SP1 installed and it shouldn't be a permissions issue, I'm an
administrator on this machine. Here are the exercises and the errors.
Chapter 9
"Change the ProductsMD.xsn template's main data source" - pg.283 step 3 -
Doesn't ask to replace the main data source and it's default values.
Exercise fails, no updates get added to the template.
Chapter 11
"View submission options and submit the RSS 2.0 form" - pg313-315 step 5 -
Recieve error message "InfoPath cannot submit the form because of an error.
Server Response: 404 not Found"
Chapter 11
"Create a data connection and submit the form by email" - pg316-317 step 4 -
"Submit by Email" recieve error message "InfoPath cannot submit the form. An
error occured while the form was being submitted".
I am lead to assume that the error messages in Chapter 11 are a result of
the same issue. Has anyone else had these problems or can anyone answer
these questions?
