In one Word document, I notice a word in blue underlined and if I click it
while
holding down Ctrl button, it goes to a set destination and pressing alt +
left arrow buttons returns to original position. It works correctly in
Office 2007. Can someone advise me how to use this feature in Mac 2008.

Thanks,

Scott

Sounds like a hyperlink. Explore and experiment with the Insert |
Hyperlink dialog to create hyperlinks.

In Mac Word, you should not need to hold down control to activate the
hyperlink, just click on it.

Not sure about the alt-left arrow to return--see if option+left arrow
works, and if on a laptop, try it with the function key. I'm not 100%
sure, but I think the feature used there is the Back button on the Web
toolbar, and I'm not sure if it's still available in MacWord 2008.

Daiya,

Thanks for your reply. Option+left arrow or function key does not work. I
cannot locate where Back button is.

See if command-option-z, the regular GoBack command, works for you. If
not, try View | Navigation Pane | Document Map to navigate a long
document, as a workaround.

Sadly, the WebGoBack command definitely seems to be gone from MacWord
2008, though it was in Word 2004. If the above doesn't work, you should
let MS know that you need to be able to hit Back to return from a
hyperlink. Letting MS know this affected you may help raise the
priority--send feedback here:

or by using Help | Send Feedback in Word.

Daiya,

Thanks for your advice but unfortunately it still does not work. I have fed
back to Microsoft following your suggestion and hope they can fix it
shortly.
