Booted out of Access

We run Access2002 on our Windows 2000 server and although
35 users utilize the program; most are read only users.
Users using the system at the same time max out at 7
users. We have never seen 8 users on the system at the
same time. We have not split the DB and would like to
avoid doing so to minimize maintenance issues with PCs.

The DB I have written over the past three years appears
to be stable and we have only had one instance of data
corruption in the "early days" probably as a result of
poor design.

The only issue we run into is with the principal data
input person when she uses the Find/Replace function.
95% of the time she can use this function without
difficulty. However; occasionally she receives
the "Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to
close" while using the Find/Replace function; and she
must exit and re-enter the program.

We have monitored her use of the Find/Replace carefully
and do not see anything that may be triggering the error.
In fact; today she was able to re-enter the program and
follow the exact keystrokes that initially booted her
out. Cursor in same field (a combo box)and use of the
exact keystrokes. After closing Access and re-entering
the second Search/Replace attempt was totally uneventful
and successful.

All users can run queries; reports; macros; and input
data via forms consistently without encountering this
error. It is only when this user utilizes the
Search/Replace function that she occasionally gets booted
out. Our IT mananger tried installing OfficeXP SP3 on
her machine recently but this has not corrected the
problem.

Anyone suggest a solution to this problem and how to
correct it?

TIA

Maybe...
someone is trying to enter data on the field she is doing
the Find/Replace on and since the field is in use it
causes Access to 'freeze'?

Gina:

That can't be the problem since Access permits more than
one user to work with the same record concurrently.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
