Bordered Text in Word

Willie

I do not know if this is the correct forum to request
assitance on this particular problem but I have already
tried using the Newsgroup option and have not found
resolutiion.

If this is not the correct forum, please advise me as soon
as possible (CONTACT INFO: (e-mail address removed)) as I am
required to complete this project for a charity
organization.

I am attempting to partition sections of a page into
halves and quarters. The partitions will be populated
with advertisements (text & Clip Art border). [Two per
page and four per page] I have found how to place border
around text:

1. Insert.Picture.Clip Art [Search Text: Border]
2. Right click to select border
3. Format Picture.Layout.Behind Text
4. Draw text box
5. Insert text

Once I have composed the advertisement I cannot position
the advertisements; it will not group. What is the
recommended method to segment the page into halves and
quarters, and populate the segments with the bordered text?

One idea might be to use Text Boxes (from the Drawing Toolbar) -- which you
can also apply borders to. You can size them and place them where
needed...and then position the clip art images where they need to be.

Might this help?

Hi Willie,

You can create a table and size the cells to
create 2 or 4 cells per page and insert the
graphics and text into the table cells as one method.

The table cells can have borders of different sizes
and colors applied.

If you're using text boxes you can position them on
the page by dragging or you can use the Draw=>Align
feature in the Word drawing toolbar.

To select multiple text boxes switch to print layout view
and zoom out to see the whole page, then use the White
selector arrow on the Drawing toolbar and draw a lasso
around all of the textboxes. You should be able to
group them at that point, depending on your Word version.
