borders - line weights in Publisher

I posted earlier and could not access the link that was sent to me... so I am
trying again.

I am using Publisher 2007 and was wondering if there was a way to make a
default line weight for all of my graphics in my document. When I insert a
screen shot and put a border around it, the line weight always comes up 2.25
and I want all of my screen shots to be 1. I have looked for a default
setting and cannot find one. Does it exist?

Are you using "Print Screen?" I've never seen Publisher default to a 2.25
border. Are you opening the line menu and selecting a line or are you manually
drawing a border? There is a selection in the "more lines" that you can select
per publication. Look for "Apply settings to new objects."

If you are using SnagIt you can set the border width within the Snagit program.
If you have Vista and are using the Snipping Tool, select a color in the
options...the border will be about 2.25.

I do have Vista. Yes I am using Print Screen to capture the screen shot and
then I crop and use the line menu and I manually select the 1 vs the 2.25.
If I first click the color to color the line blue, then the line menu button
it will be set at ... well this morning it is at 3/4 or 1 1/2... . If I
click the line menu first, before adding the color there is no choice made, I
manually select the 1. Then if I click the More... the dialog box opens and
the "Apply settings to new objects" selection is grayed out. Wierd!

Maybe a repair? Help, Office Diagnostics. Have you tried the Snipping Tool?
Start, Accessories, Snipping tool.
You are applying color before the line weight. The default is 3/4pt when you
apply the line through the color menu. If you use the line menu first you can
select 1pt

The *Apply settings to new objects* is dimmed for pictures, I'm sorry I led you
astray. If you create a box the size of your picture, then the *Apply
settings...* becomes active.

OK, I was just wondering if there was a place withing Publisher to set the
default to 1 instead of what ever it chooses.

I have never used or knew about the Snipping Tool. I just opened it and
WOW! This will help a bunch! Thanks so much for your help!
