Borders not showing up

I have a simple question. When I used to make tables with hidden borders,
they would show up as dotted lines while I was typing and print without them
being there. But now, they don't show up at all when I am typing, which is
really annoying since I can't tell what I'm doing. Is there any way to make
them re-appear? I tried switching views, etc, but I had no luck. I have no
idea how they got like this.

Hi Mike,

The 'hidden borders' are called gridlines. To display them go to
Tables/Show Gridlines.
