BORDERS & SHADING

So I have this docusment, and it is driving me mad! Two pages long, and i
want to place a whole page border on it, nothing fancy. I go to format ->
borders/shading -> page borders tab -> box option -> options button -> set
all 4 sides to 24 pt....and the sides come out all screwy...NONE of the
distances are equal...the top is a bigger space, followed by the right, the
left, and then the bottom has a tiny lil sliver of space there...what
gives???? I set it to emasure from edge of page, and i triple checked, the
margins are set at 1" all sides...any ideas???

Hi Tucker

When you go to the options tab, try selecting to place the border
distant from the text rather than the page edge.

Also, take a look at whether you've selected to get the border to
surround the headers and footers. From what you say about the bottom
of the page it sounds like you have the footer included within the
border but not the header.

If your text has a ragged right margin then word wrapping might make
the distance look more on the right hand side of the page, so play
with the text justification to see what looks best.

One last thing - page borders can be affected by your print driver.
E.g. Some of the deskjet printers require more "grabbing" room at the
top / bottom of the page than a laser printer would need. You might
find printing the document on a different printer gives a different
result.
