Hi -

I have a legal academic copy of Office 2007, Enterprise, DVD. No trouble
installing on my Sony laptop. Tried to install in an old desktop, but desktop
is CD only. Tried to download trial version of word, excel, powerpoint and
use legal key to complete installation. Get message invalid key.

Any suggestions on how to install the 3 programs on my old computer are
welcome. One user only, both computers are never in use at the sane time.
Don't need the rest of Office on that machine.

Thanks

Office is smart enough to know which specific version your key is for and if
it doesn't match the version you are trying to activate, it's not going to
work. Do yourself a favor - pick up an inexpensive DVD player. You can get
one for ~$50 these days.

If the two computers are networked together, you can copy the full contents
of the DVD across the network from the laptop to a temporary install folder
on the hard drive of the older desktop computer. It possibly will install
from a copy on the hard drive. I haven't tried this with the 2007 version
of Office but routinely do this with previous versions from version 4.3 to
2003.

Hope this helps..

Try an external usb dvd drive if you don't like to open your computer.
I bought a Plextor cd/dvd drive and it installed itself.
It was very easy and the drive is faster than the one in my desktop.
Very reliable.
just a thought!!!!
