bought new office pro - conversion does not take produdt key on

used office trial. Bought new Office pro 2007
when converting computer does not accept product key from ne pkg

No as I understood that it would not be necessary to do so. I do not want to
lose data....

It is highly recommended you remove the trial first.
It will not remove the data.
But, it wouldn't hurt to back the data up.
