did I get put on the bounce list... because I attached one tiny mpp file?

Trevor,
What do you mean, "bounce list"? Obviously you are able to post to this
newsgroup or I wouldn't be responding.

Attaching a binary file to a post won't get you "fired". My
understanding about attachments is that responders outside the USA have
to pay connect charges for downloading when they open a post with an
attachment. The general rule is that posts should contain all
information in the post text itself. If a look at the actual file is
required, an MVP will generally ask that you send it directly to them.

Hi John

and i've been telling everyone it's because responders in the USA have to
pay for downloads :)

Julie,
Not true, at least for me. I have a simple dial up modem with unlimited
access and I can download anything - although it may take a while.

and i'm on adsl (broadband) with 300MB per month download limit which i
never ever go anywhere near using so i don't tend to worry about attachments
except from the virus point of view ...

i do however, think it's a good idea to "encourage" people not to add
attachments as most things can be explained and answered without them ...

btw Trevor - i was wondering the other day as to where you had got to as its
been over a year since i've notice a post / reply from you

Cheers
