Bouncing Dock Icon Notification won't stop

I know that disabling the ³animate icon² toggle doesn¹t affect the bouncing
of the icon when there¹s a server error -

My problem is that when I bring the application to front I don¹t get any
error notification so I can¹t trouble shoot the error.

The bouncing seems to occur every time exchange completes synchronizing
calendar items. (I can tell this by watching the progress window that I
leave visible behind other programs)

I¹m running entourage 2004 on Mac OSX 10.3.4 and have a connection to an
exchange 2003 server and I get no errors or crashes or warnings besides
the mad icon bouncing every few minutes. Exchange seems synchronized
contacts and mail without a hitch.

I would like to know how to stop the bouncing icon too. My errors are
usually connection errors with various ISPs. The errors themselves are not
a concern because they are caused by network traffic or internet
connectivity, but I am really annoyed by the bouncing icon which for me
renders Entourage completely useless because if one of my ISPs is down for
an extended period of time (say more than 5 min), the bounce doesn¹t stop
(b/c I have send/receive set for 1min.) I realize I could change the
send/receive to check mail less frequently, but that would lower the utility
of entourage in the first place.

Is there anyway to disable the error log or the bouncing icon?

I solved my problem at least:

The error wasn¹t showing up for me, but the Exchange admin was getting an
annoying error log on their end. One of my calendar appointments was
corrupted or something and was showing an incorrect duration. I deleted it.

No more bouncing.

Good luck.

Bringing the Entourage application to the front won¹t show you the error
causing the bouncing icon. You need to look at the error log (Window >
Error log). Or click on the error log icon that should be in the extreme
lower right corner of the Entourage window.

Your advice is correct, for clearing entourage after the icon starts to
bounce. I would still like to know how to prevent entourage from bouncing
its icon whenever there is a new entry in the error log (short of keeping
entourage in the front).

Thanks!
