Bouncing dock icon

Up until recently my entourage x dock icon has bounced ONCE on
encountering a mail retrieval problem. For no apparent reason it has
now started bouncing continuously until acknowledged - which is a
pain in the ****.

Any ideas why the sudden change? - I have tried unchecking" animate
icon" in both entourage prefs and system prefs/dock to no avail.
Neither has disabling all rules worked.

How did you configure it to only bounce once on errors? For me and the
others it seems to bounce endlessly.

Anyway, you can force the icon to cease bouncing by using the "Dock Detox"
tool from Unsanity. Note that it is not yet compatible with Panther.

You might want to send a feature request to Microsoft requesting greater
control over the bouncing Dock icon (I think the option to have it bounce
forever, once, or not at all would be nice). In Entourage X, go to Help ->

I wish I knew!! It is now bouncing non-stop as for you. I have Panther
so will have to wait for detox to update.
