Hi, I've been using Word since version 97, and Office 2003 since 2004.
Suddenly over the last few weeks Word has begun displaying email addresses
and TOCs like { mailto:[email protected] } and { TOC \o "1-3" \h \z } and it is
irritating as hell.

I used "repair" last week with "restore defaults" but it only seemed to fix
things for a day or two. I also have Office service pack 2 installed, I
think. Running Win2k with service pack 4. Maybe I should check MS for a new
update?...

THANKS Tony and SVC! I've never used "fields" and now am wondering how that
got set like that. Maybe my cat did it.

Dashed clever, those felines :)

Have you installed any new AddIns which might be behaving badly?

No addins, I only use word for reading other's documents and used to use it
for school papers. Oh, and now, resumes. Since my friends and relatives
usually regard me as a computer "genius" I should have figured that setting
out for myself I guess.

Yeah, my cat just loves to mess with electronic devices, like TV/DVD remotes
and phones and keyboards. Just likes to walk on them and sometimes knock them
around.

Regards,
Patrick
