Brainstorming association lines disappear

J

JamesL

Using Visio 2003 with WIN XP Pro. All downloads up to date. Finding that,
when using Brainstorming feature, association lines are disappearing whenever
two are added to the same topic. Also, cannot use dynamic connector and
association lines on the same topic, even though lines are at different ends
of the topic. Your thoughts, please, on this issue. Thanks....

I'm not sure I see what you describe. Can you provide step-by-step
instructions to reproduce the problem?

I think I'm just got the same problem with JamesL.

Let's say I create box A, B, C, D and E with the brainstorming template. I
use the dynamic connector to join box A and box B. Box B then connect to box
C, D. When I use the dynamic connect to join box B with Box E, the connection
line associate with box A and B suddenly disappear. What interesting is, when
I try to use the connector to rebuild the association line with box A and box
B, the line connected box B to box E will disappear again.

What happened?

Hi,

According the event monitor after the formula for the User.Parloc is
executed two marker events are fired then the deletion process started
Looks like a bug
the only way to overcome is is to protect your connectors
for instance I connected a-b, b-c, b-d and then b-e
protected b-e with format/protection/all and then when I added e-a, b-e
didn't disappear
without protection it b-e did disappear

but to keep on protecting added connectors is a bit troublesome

you can afterwards release the protection
and attach the connector temporarily to another connection point and then
return it back
to the original connection point
after this you can freely move the shape around
