Brainstorming export word and excel options are greyed out

I am trying to export to Word. The drawdown menu items "To Microsoft Word"
and "To Microsoft Excel" are inactive. "To XML" is active and the file will
open in Excel, but I can't print it in outline form there.

They have a MS Office version dependency, you might not be at the correct
level.
