Brazilian Portuguese Proofing Tools for Mac Word 98

A

aoelsner

Here at work I have the Microsoft Word 98 for Mac. But it is the
engilsh version, therefore it doesn't have brazilian portuguese
grammar.
I managed to get the proofing tools from a later version of the Word,
but it didn't work...
Does anyone know how to get those proofing tools for my Word?
My OS version is the 9.2

Thanks.

I don't think any version of MacWord has Brazilian Portuguese grammar. I
don't think even localized versions (with menus not-English) come with extra
grammar tools. So far as I know, all versions come with the same grammar
tools.

Some versions do have Brazilian Portuguese spelling. Word 2004 does, Word X
doesn't--I have no idea about Word 98. You might try a custom install from
your Office 98 CD and see if there are any proofing tools that you haven't
installed.

But even then, I think you are only going to get spelling, not grammar.

It's conceivable that proofing tools from Word 2001 would work in Word 98,
or that tools from Word 2004 would work in Word X, but highly unlikely that
tools taken across the OS X/OS 9(classic) line would work.

Hi,

Brazillian and Portuguese Proofing Tools were only added to Word 2004, they
are not supported in Word 98.

Thanks,
Fergal.
