break linked boxes keeping text

Can I break the link between boxes and keep the text that has already flowed
into those boxes in that same box? E.g., box 1 links to box 2 to box 3. I
like the way boxes 2 and 3 look, and want the text in there to stay, but I
want to mess with box 1. Now, when I try to change the size of box 1, linked
text from boxes 2 and 3 flow out of those boxes, up or down depending on how
I change box 1. I could do copy/paste maneuvers, but if there is a
"Publisher" way to do it, I'd rather use that. Thanks!

Drag the three text boxes into the scratch area, create three new text boxes, adjust
them the way you want them to look, link them, copy the text, paste.

Hi, Chris -

Hope you check back again. Here is another way to do it.

If you have your text boxes all set up and have "flowed" the text to the
series of text boxes, you can move the cursor to the end of the text in a
text box and press CONTROL + ENTER.

(You might have to back-space the text one space in the next text box. If
you back-space too much though you undo the hard break!)

Experiment with this. (To test, pull a corner to make the first text box
bigger--the following text should not flow back.) It might serve your purpose.

I wondered if that would work but didn't try it. So it would be a "text box
break" instead of a "page break." Thanks!
