BREAKING AN EXTERNAL DATA RANGE LINK BETWEEN EXCEL AND ACCESS

S

Sam

I used an Access Query to create an external data range link in Excel. This
worked, however, when I change information in Access and try to refresh using
the datalink toolbar it gives this error: "Data could not be retrieved from
the database. Check the database server or contact your database
administrator. Make sure the external database is available, and then try the
operation again." This doesn't make sense because I can open the database
and make changes. The only reason I can see is that the original data range
has changed and now there is a communication error; so I deleted the excel
file and started over. The same error occurred again with a new file, which
means there is still a link between the Access Query and something else, but
I don't know where or how to get rid of it. Thanks.
