Breaking up a Trendline

I need to make a trendline for one series, however, I want a trend fo
say Jan-June and a separate trendline for July-Dec. short of placin
each data set on a separate line in the worksheet, how do I do this?

That's exactly how you do it. A trendline includes every point in a series to do its
analysis. You can format both partial series the same, and even hide one legend
entry (click on the legend, then click on the legend entry text, then press Del).
