bring back favourites in Word and Excel (not in office 2003)

I used to use the favourites option in file open dialogue box a lot for Excel
and Word, but Office 2003 has taken these away. The replacement appears to be
an icon for My Recent Documents, but my favourites we often files used on say
a monthly or quarterly basis.

Create a folder called favorites then add shortcuts to the documents you
need to access monthly, quarterly, .... then add the folder to the My Places
Bar
