Bring Back Office Binder

Phyllis

I have seen the suggestion before and have voted for the previous
suggestions. Here I suggest additional reasons for its return.

Binder would so complement some of the newer Office features (and vise
versa) that both Binder and these newer features would be enriched. For
example, the Research Pane enables users to gather information from many
sources; Binder goes a step further in letting users combine their research
from various Office programs into one document.

Microsoft has add other features that enable companies to respond more
efficiently to Requests for Proposal. Often though, Proposals need to
include spreadsheets, database info such as customer lists with contact
information, PowerPoint charts or graphs, etc. Binder completes the process
of simplifying proposal writing by enabling companies to compile in one
document a proposal that includes Word, Excel, Database and PowerPoint pages.
(See, wouldn't that be a great way to market it?)

Last, I realize and appreciate that it would have been time consuming to
maintain Binder's compatibility with other Office products and that the
number of Binder users back then might not have justified the time and
expense of upgrades. However, when Binder was released, the products that
make up the Office Suite were mostly used and viewed as stand-alone products.
Now, users routinely see them as integrated. I think Binder was ahead of
its time and would have a much bigger user base if offered today.

Thank you so much for considering whether today's environment, Microsoft's
continuing moves toward product integration, and newer Office featuers would
make Office Binder today a popular and world class addition.
