PLEASE bring back the short cut bar for Office 2003.. it kept my desktop clear.. and made life very easy. It was a 'dumb' thing to eliminate this!!

Susan,

If you are using Windows XP then place the majority of the icons you had on
the shortcut bar into the Quick Launch Bar on the Taskbar

You don't need it. In all versions of Windows (98, Me, 2000 and XP) you can
just create a folder with all the Office shortcuts in and then right-click
on the taskbar, go to Toolbars and New Toolbar. Point it to the folder that
you have justcreated and voila! One Office Toolbar.

It's a good thing they got rid of the Office Toolbar as it was just
duplicating an existing Windows function.

Er... no it was mainly an annoyance. Clearly MIcrosoft wouldn't drop
something unless they knew that the majority of people wouldn't miss it. As
I said earlier, you can just use the Windows taskbar to achieve the same
effect, rendering the Office Bar totally useless.

If it was an annoyance you could turn it off. I liked it. One click and you
are in the program of your choice. Not right click on task bar....point to
toolbar....click on folder.....click on program. That's crap.
