Bringing over text in a formula

Does anyone know how to bring over text from another
worksheet through a formula? I am building a schedule
that has job numbers and want to bring over the "job
name" from a database. Similar to the "sumif" formula, I
want the formula to bring over the "job name" if the "job
number" in my new schedule matches the "job number" in
the database.
