Broken receive in Outlook

Hello,

[apologies for multiple postings]

I'm experiencing a strange problem with Outlook 2003. Just recently,
receiving email stopped working. If I push the Send/Receive button (or hit
F9) nothing happens! Normally the status bar would indicate that send/receive
is in progress, but now there's nothing. There are no error messages. If I
open and pin the Outlook Send/Receive Progress window, nothing happens there
either, when I try to make Outlook receive email.

When I've written an email and press Send it is sent directly (I'm on
broadband) and that's also indivated in the Outlook Send/Receive Progress
window, if it's open.

I've tried:

* Deleting and re-installing the email acoount. If I press the Test Account
Settings button, everthing works OK (Outlook finds the POP3 server), except
that the test email is never received back in Outlook (it does arrinve to my
yahoo-account).

* Starting Outlook in Safe Mode, but this does not change anything.

* Runing Outlook with logging amd pressing the Send/Receive button several
times.The sole result is:

2007.09.21 21:23:49 <<<< Logging Started (level is LTF_TRACE) >>>>
2007.09.21 21:23:49 Resource manager terminated

which doesn't mean much to me.

Grateful for any help!

Hi Markus--

By any chance are you also running any version of either Norton Internet
Security or Norton Antivirus. There is a known issue where their mail
scanning components can interfere with both sending and receiving mail in
Outlook. If you do, turning them off will fix this and given the intrinsic
mail scanning in Outlook you don't need them.

No, I run neither of those. I do have another anti-virus program installed,
but I've tried switching that off and it had no effect!

Since my last posting, I've also tried to 'repair' my Office installation
(via Control Panel->Add and Remove Programs). However, the problem remains,
so my next action will probably be to completely un-install and then
re-install Outlook. :-(

Hi I am having the same issue... has anyone solved this?

Hi...
I have Outlook 2007, running Windows Vista 64... Here is my issue... I

came into work on Monday morning and when I opened up outlook, the
little gear icons displayed on the bottom right of the Outlook system
tray, saying data file check in progress. I got up to walk away from
my computer, and came back to see that Outlook had closed itself. So,

I opened it back up, and everything seemed fine. However, I noticed
that when I opened up Outlook, It did not automatically send/receive
like it always does. So I clicked on the send / receive button and
the dialogue box did not come up like it always does. So I clicked on

Define Send / Receive Groups, and it did not even open. I am not
sure what is happening, but I have not been able to receive email for
a week, however I can send. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Something is telling me there is a corrupt file somewhere which
prevents me from opening up the Define Send / Receive Groups option,
which is probably the same problem preventing me from receiving
emails. I have check all connections and have email properly
configured (pop3) - all tests pass not problem. I have searched the
internet for the last week and can't figure this one out. Can anybody

help? :) Thanks!
