Broken search function

We have a form which is basically used to track people's names, contact info,
association memberships, etc. We pull up the info by entering a person's last
name. As of yesterday, we've started getting a message saying "You can't use
Find or Replace now. The fields are not searchable due to one of the
following: *The fields are controls (such as buttons or OLE objects). *The
fields have no date. *There are no fields to search." We lost our tech
support person. Suggestions on how to fix this, please?

Thank you

Hi,

We'll probably need more detail on the structure of the database, but for
starters:

Have you tried to compact and repair the database?

Has anything else changed on your systems?
i.e. New Operating Sytem / Updated Version of MS Office

Is there anyone in your organisation who knows anything about MS Access?

Hi Andy - no for both questions. I'm searching for an Access user in our org.
Thanks for your input.

Just a caution. I'd make a backup copy of the database before you compact it.
