Hi Ikram,
I'm not quite sure what you're looking for.
When you select a drive other than C: as the
Target for Office it will install a portion
of the applications to the drive that Windows
is on as a number of files are shared apps.
It will also use the temp folder (usually
on the Windows drive) for its setup files as well
This Office 2000 article gives an idea of how
much space is used on the Windows drive (similar
for Office XP) although 478 mb would be a bit high
if you're talking about the end result rather the
inital setup process.

The part of the problem not applicable to Windows XP
relates to the version of the MS Installer. The
Installer cleanup utility for version 2 of MSI being
available as a download is going on to 2 years past
due at this point.

The greyed out browse in office XP 2002 setup was cleared
by deleting the windows installer database using
miscuu.exe ir windows installer cleaner for NT...However
when install was attempted to a different disk ie not the
system disk than office XP setup still wanted to install
about 478 MB on the system or C disk...could microsoft ask
its office development team to look into that >>
