Browser plug-in displays Word Doc but also opens it in Word and er

Hi everyone, I have a browser app that displays MS Office objects and works
fine when the Browse in same window folder option setting for the file type
..doc is set properly.

I have one client that uses Win 2000, IE 6 and Office 2003 and am getting
unusual behavior. The browse in same window option is selected for the .DOC
filetype and it does appear properly within the browser window.

The problem is that it also tried to open up Word and throws the following
error dialog:

Could not open "http........doc"

I have not been able to replicate that in the same environment.

Any ideas on why it tries to open it in Word as well?
