Bubble comments

My friend has pc word, and her comments appear in nice little bubbles
off to the side of her document. My mac programme puts them on the
bottom and I can't see them as I continue to type. Is there some way I
can actually see the comments without having to constantly click "view
comments"???

It is really annoying not being able to have the comments RIGHT next to
the text.

thanks,
c

Dear [whoever],

What version of Word are the two of you using? OS?

Post back and someone will help you soon. (I can't, because the Comments
bubbles appear on the side of mine, too, in Page Layout view; and I hardly
ever use them, so haven't gained expertise.)

Cheers,

by the way- I am using Mac OS word X on a g4 powerbook with the latest
osX.
You want bubbles? You need Word 2004. Then you get bubbles in Page
View. The whole thing is rather buggy, so be careful what you wish for.

I'm not that familiar with Word X (pretty much skipped over it), but if
there is any control it would most likely be in
WordMenu>Preferences>Track Changes. Even if the balloons feature isn't
available in X, however, I believe you should still be able to hover
your pointer over the Comment indicator & have the Comment displayed in
a box @ that location.

Hi Cyber:

Bubbles aren't available in Word X, they were a new feature in Word 2004.

And as Elliott notes, they're buggy. Many people using comments extensively
disable them.

Cheers
