Buffer overrun detected when merging documents and adresses

I have made a new Windows XP and office 2003 installation. When i try to
merge documents and adresses i get and error window with the header:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
It says Buffer overrun detected
A buffer overrun has been detected wich has corrupted the program's internal
state. the program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
terminated.

The merging did work on the old installation, so i don't know what the
problem is.
